Filmmaker/Distributor Agreement
Filmmaker/Distributor Agreement
- Our goal is to help you help yourself. FFJ is not a distributor. FFJ is an online service provider for content providers. In short, FFJ offers a platform where films can screen and the owner(s) can fairly and reasonably profit from their work. Basically, we help you help yourself. Why? Because we have realized that most options for filmmakers weren't fair or just. It is FFJ's goal to offer a quality platform for you to offer your work. A place where quality films are available online to interested viewers.
- Up to 50% Payout of GROSS REVENUE (good - before expenses), not NET or GROSS MARGIN (bad - after expenses including marketing)
Earn up to 50% from each customer who pays to watch your film. This means if your film is on the site for $1.00 (hypothetical dollar amount for ease of example) then you will receive up to
50 cents of that $1.00.We make sure filmmakers get their fair share of the pie rather than the left-overs. We do not pay you after our advertisting costs, overhead or any other costs. We pay our filmmakers out of the profits upfront because it is fair and the right thing to do. It's how the retail business flourished for years. Holding profits from filmmakers is bad business for everyone. Our expenses come out of our revenue and then our profits are created after we've paid our bills, ect.
Your profits go into your pockets! FilmFestJunkie is not a corporation and is not funded by outside investors. Therefore, FFJ have the ability and desire to ensure we pay filmmakers first! If FFJ were a normal office with employees then you, the filmmaker, are the equivalent to our employees. We want you to be happy and loyal. We want you to be able to make a sustainable living off your films and ideally create enough income to support your future projects.
Filmmakers deserve to profit from their work and FFJ has set up a business model to ensure your viability and potential sucess. FFJ appreciates the value and necessity of a filmmakers creation thereby creating a system for fair and equal trade.

FilmFestJunkie is not a corporation and does not have outside investors. Therefore, we have the ability and desire to ensure we pay you first! Think of it this way, if FFJ were a normal office with employees then you, the filmmaker, would be the equivalent to our employees. FilmFestJunkie wants its film partners to be happy, sucessful, exclusive and loyal. We want filmmakers to be able to make a sustainable living and ideally create enough income to also support their next film.
FilmFestJunkie reserves the right to reward our filmmaking partners with periodic bonuses in addition to regularly earned profits. In times that seem far too removed from today's income earners, valuable, productive workers used to be rewarded with bonuses creating an incentive program as well as allowing a company to show additional appreciation for the relationship they had with those that helped make the company a success. FilmFestJunkie believes in shared profits with those that create the products rather than shareholders or outside interests. It's more like we consider filmmakers to be our shareholders and therefore we want them to benefit and feel that as a result we will all benefit and flourish both as a team and individually.
FFJ pays up to 50% of gross revenue! Filmmakers deserve to profit from their work and FFJ has set up a business model to ensure your viability and potential success. FFJ appreciates the value and necessity of fimmaker creations thereby developing a system for fair and equal trade - a true and honest up to share from each screening is fair so that is what FFJ is offering!
FilmFestJunkie does not expect filmmakers to pay the overhead, marketing, advertising or promotional costs for the running of FilmFestJunkie. We expect to pay our own way and to pay filmmakers appropriately for the work they have created! This is a fair deal. Fair for FilmFestJunkie and fair for Filmmakers. We are very proud to offer this split and know that it is the right deal for both parties involved.
- No Upfront Cost To You
There is no upfront cost to you to share your work on FilmFestJunkie. We make money when you make money. We have set it up so we're hungry if you're hungry. We do well if you do well. We make pennies on the dollars which means more money in your pocket and FFJ will always have to work hard on your behalf to well itself. FFJ and its content providers work as a team for the good of the whole - content providers (filmmakers), audiences and FilmFestJunkie! FFJ will not profit at the expense of filmmakers or instead of filmmakers. Our thought is that if you make money, you'll make more films. If you're film was good enough to get on the site in the first place then we want more of what you have to offer and want to help you get there!
- FFJ is Not the Distributor, You Are
FFJ does not distribute films. FFJ is a service provider offering a platform where filmmakers can share their work with the public at a profit while still retaining the rights to their work filmmakers. In fact, if you are considering using the FFJ platform then you must have the legal right to distribute the film and are in effect legally stating that you are the rights holder of the film in question. FFJ wants you to keep those rights and to use them to your benefit. This platform was creating to help you walk down the road of prosperity, not to push you off it!
- Filmmakers and Distributors Benefit From FilmFestJunkie
FFJ is privately owned therefore able to share profits with filmmakers rather than stockholders or outside investors.
- What FilmFestJunkie is Looking For From You
All films are reviewed. Not all are accepted. FFJ specifically seeks quality work in all genres - without exception. The only special preference given is to quality - not to association, film festival, star involved, etc. At FFJ, everyone has a fair and equal chance and everyone plays on a level playing field. FFJ has a tendencies to root for underdogs. Quality is our main focus and, at FFJ, we understand that quality isn't only a term for mainstream. FFJ values all genres equally and understands that niche audiences want access to the films they'd love to see!FFJ is looking for films worth watching. Some will have fantastic unknown talent. Some will be quirky, well-made and hard to sell to mainstream audiences. Some will be mainstream but hard to sell because there are no names attached. Some didn't get into a top tier festival... or may had no festival run, at all. Some of the films will be older. Some will have been completed this year, will be mainstream and of varying budgets. Some will be straight-up art films with limited audience potential partly as a result of our world's refusal to teach culture to our younger generations. We are truly open to all types of good work - without exception. If you think FFJ would be a good fit for your film but you do something different. Cool. If we agree, we're open to it! FFJ knows there is an audience who has as hard of a time finding these films as you do finding the audience or a way to reach them. It is FFJ's goal to build a bridge between films and their audiences!
